Looks like a modern version of the clothesline we used when I was a little kid before everyone had dryers. Certainly would save money. I would hang clothes up inside out just for sun exposure reasons. If that is not a concern, go for it!
I live in a Dallas, Tx, suburb. We have plenty of room for outdoor drying, but nobody in these thousands of houses seems to hang out their clothes. We old folks talk about how fresh clean sheets used to smell, but we use scented detergent and dryer sheets to get that smell today. If the dryer breaks down and we have to go to a laundromat, we whine for days. I'm so spoiled😇
no I find they are to bendy, We use a regular line like this, with pegs.... and on nasty days I use a folding rack to hang my laundry on. We don't use dryers. So everything gets hung on a rack, or line as shown below.
I think the lady wanted to know if anyone had used it! She wasn't looking to see if anyone used a dryer or a clothesline. They have clothes dryers in Australia just as they do in North America just some people don't use them. Drying outside kills bacteria and freshens things and also isn't hard on things. If you can dry outside looking for better ways to do it is great. The photo that was posted looked like it may be better for some things and you won't end up with unsightly marks where your pegs go. Therefore doing away with the need to iron everything. The system she has posted looks ok to me.
I just looked them up! They are for portable drying. I love the idea, I have never used one but I do a lot of traveling and camping and this would be great for when I hand wash things while on the road!
I have never used one but I think I may just buy one to add to my camping gear!
Thanks it's out of view from the public so you can hang out your nickers And other under garments. Drys quickly and always smells fresh. And just think of all the money I save on power bills!
hanging clothes so close seems to delay drying time to me. I hang clothes as often as possible. If worried about wrinkles? I put in dryer for a few min...then take out and hang outside.
For years I begged my husband for a clothesline. He thought they were low-class except at the very back or properties. Finally installed one right by my patio with lots of sun. We bought the whirligig one-you can hide your undies in the middle. We have saved $100's and our clothes last longer and smell better. And surprise he is the first one out hanging the clothes.
I haven't used a clothesline in years. The last time I did they stunk from the fish processing plant in town and were full of those little gnats! So I'll spend the extra cost to use the dryer. But yes, I miss those air-dried linens and just the feeling of accomplishment hanging the clothes on the line. I never used the Tibbe method but I wonder if the hangers blow down in the wind.
I never put my nice bras and panties in the dryer. Hang them out on a spiral hanging rack in the bathroom. It is proven that they last longer. I hang freshly washed towels on patio chairs for the fresh outdoor smell. Towles take too long in the dryer, guess hanging them outdoors saves me money !!!
I have one of these and love to hang items out to dry. Especially the lighter items that are not heavy and the sun bleaches the whites. My mother told me what they use to say is put your whites on the line and leave them through the night and the moon whitens them! Lol Thought that was a funny saying! the sun does bleach the whites! The smell out of this world. Use mine as much as I can!
Every time I clean my mirrors, they end up having tons of streaks and almost look worse than before I started. What could I use to clean them that won't leave streaks...

I still use my ole clothesline on a sunny day especially for heavy items and bedding thats going to take more than 1 dryer timed setting.
