How to remove wood glue after removing a small wooden sea shell

I put small wooden sea shells or fans at the corner of my cabinet doors and painted them. Now I want to remove them but they are glued on with wood glue . Do I pop them off or what? How do I get the glue off. I realize that I will have to paint them again but I do not want to damage the wood. Does anyone have a trick that I can use?

you could try heating them with a blow dryer to try to soften the glue.
Try heating up the area with a blow dryer to soften the glue,use a plastic scraper to remove,and use goo-gone to clean off any remain residue
