Well if they have polyester in the blend you may not be able to get the shine out, as you've melted the fiber. Next time don't put your iron up so high, and to press use a damp cotton cloth to get a nice crisp press and no shine.
I agree with Sharon, if you've melted the fiber, there probably isn't a way to reverse the shine. No matter the fabric, I always use a damp presser cloth solely for this purpose.
I have no idea how to take the sheen out, and to prevent in the future, use a linen pressing cloth, which leaves no lint behind. I have some ancient Irish linen and Austrian linen dish cloths way past their prime and use solely for pressing items that are delicate or could be marred by the heat of the iron.
I'd try getting them dry cleaned; see if that helps; I don't purchase anything I have to iron!
O don't know how to remove it but I find it is worse if you regularly use spray stsrch. You might also try a lower heat setting on the oron.
If the fabric is a natural fiber like cotton, you may be able to fix this by adding vinegar to your steam iron (1:1 mix with water) and holding a steaming iron ABOVE the garment for a few seconds and see if the fabric fibers relax. Then press lightly with the iron still steaming. IF the fabric is made of man-made fabric like polyester, you are out of luck since the burn means that the plastics in the fabric have most likely melted into the shiny area. (But I would try the vinegar trick anyway--- you have nothing to lose!)
