Use removable wall paper
Us Karen's are always changing our mines! Take mirror and glue shells with good glue, not glue gun.small ones best with few bigger ones. lots of them Wallpaper border. Take a piece of driftwood ,fishing line and string shells hanging down .hopfully you can drill holes in them to hang..a mural would be great if you can paint. Have fun.
I had an ocean them in our den some years back. I put my small shells in a bowl on the bookshelf, glued them to the frame of a family photo of my grandparents, set the larger shells on the shelf, and a large starfish on the wall. These could easily be incorporated in a bathroom. There are dolphin matching sets for bathrooms that would compliment the shells, if you are partial to dolphins. I have a small mirror I was considering gluing more shells to the edge to frame it. Stencils would look good on cabinet doors if they are painted white and you can get shell stencils. Silver dollar shells might work for a soap dish. I did purchase some "shell" soaps also. Hope this gives you some ideas.
I would buy picture frames, mount a piece of thin wood inside and then glue the shells to the wood in a pattern or a collage. Then, you can hang them in the room and they are completely removable. You could also use a small shadowbox filled with shells.
Bad idea on walls as they will become a major dirt/dust/scum trap. Consider making the display in an enclosed shadow box.
You can purchase some shadow boxes and make a design with the shells. Then hang on the wall.
To reduce holes in your wall, use metals shelving strips with adjustable holes and make shelves out of shelving board. Paint the shelves a soft teal to go with your ocean theme.
Hi Karen! How about a completely removable nautical fishing net suspended on your wall (they are cheap, like $5 for one that is 48" x 144" in many available colors at Walmart)? You can drap or hang or suspend it to your liking and tuck in shells, glass balls, starfish, nautical décor, etc. When you decide its time to switch out for a new theme, you can untack it and pack it away with the shells, etc. Here are some examples:
