Is your lawn getting enough water? You could be under-watering or over-fertilizing. Too much nitrogen can turn a lawn yellow, and so can dry conditions. Try watering deeply, early in the morning.

Hi Ruby, I recommend diluting a couple tablespoons of Epson Salt in 2 gallons of water. Sprinkle it on affected area. Then water it real good. The extra water will help the roots receive the Epson Salt. This process will put enzymes in to the soil. You can repeat once a month. Hope this helps you.

I have found that yellow usually means plants are receiving too much water and brown means they are not getting enough water.

Water it well, especially in the morning. Soak each area for a good half hour before moving the sprinkler and start as early as possible to help the grass come back

There are grass saver products on the market for around $10 that turn yellow grass green again. However, it is also best to check on the following potential causes. Does your lawn need to be aerated so that there is enough water drainage and the grass's roots are getting enough air via circulation? Does the lawn get enough sun? Is your mower sharp and is the grass being mowed when the grass is dry? Are grass clippings being raked up? If not, they could harbor pests or disease. Any one or all of these things could be contributing to or causing the problem.

Water the affected area, scatter some seed and as the yellow grass dries out and dies, trim close so the new growth can come in
