Not sur of your ques. But you could cover them in material put some batting underneath, then staple material over it.
you can put matching wall paper on them.
If you have taken them down, see if you can use them as bookshelves. Or glue them together to make a table top. Best wishes 😇
How big are they?
You can Paint, Stain, Stencil, Paper, or Upholster them. You can add trim or carvings to them such as the wood shapes at a hardware store or iron trivets. You could use a wood burning pen and do some pyrography on them. You could even hang a fringe or lace from them. The sky is the limit!!
Hope these ideas help spark the perfect plan for you valances!!

Cover with batting and decorative fabric.
Measure the windows from side to side and you want the ends to go on the side of the wood molding right? So that will be your front board plus add in the how thick the board is. 5" inch ends are normal with fir them to stick out and Home Depot with cut them for you if you buy there board and 6" to 8" wide board is good for standard size windows. Buy wood screws and l brackets placed on top and screwed into the top molding. Place batting and fabric of your choice and a staple gun, it's ez I just did my entire home.
