Buy a small baker's rack that can hold the microwave AND lots of other stuff. Cookbooks, dinnerware, cooking pots and pans, etc. The baker's rake stores vertically, which saves space.
Any kitchen cart that fits your dimentions will work. Goodwill and thrift stores would be a great place to start. Plus it provides extra storage or display space, is on wheels, so easy to move to clean too. Here is a link to what at Target has to offer for examples.

Hi Faye. I had my microwave on a small kitchen island that had wheels. It also had a drawer, wine storage, and a shelf. It was very small but perfect for a microwave. Plus I could move it if I needed to and had extra storage.
multiuse stand, not sure how small kitchen is but I had a small cart I had refinished with barn wood and used it as top shelf coffee bar and bottom microwave
you could find an old tv tray table, you know the ones that fold up and you get them out to eat on the couch with in front of you..you could even put a skirtng around it and put things under it..the legs are an x shape so lots of room under it for storage..hope that helps
