When can you start transplanting in zone 7?

I have several Hostas, caladiums and cannas I would like to move into different areas. Also, 2 Maple trees, they are only 1 1/2 feet tall.

Hostas should be divided in the fall or early spring,cannas and caladiums will have to be dug up dried and stored in a dark cool location,maples should be transplanted in late fall or early spring

Hostas can be moved at any time, but the easiest is when the have just emerged in the spring. Less chance of damaging the leaves. Just make sure that you care for them until they are established by watering them to keep them from drying out when they are vulnerable.
Hostas are so much easier in spring if looking to transplant and split
Wait until summer heat breaks. I'd hold off as far as possible into the cool of fall.
