I just fold them in half so that the back half of the jeans is what is showing. You definitely can't fold them like dress pants. Same goes with their shorts, unless they are dressy shorts. I do this with all blue jeans, no matter whose they are or what style they are. You just can't fold them like dress pants that have a crease.
Fold at the seams, not in front! Boys don't want a pressed line down the front.

I would fold in half, front facing then roll from the bottom up - no creases or folds.
