Usually when you paint anything with chalk paint, that's it. You don't have to do anything else. That's part of the beauty of it. The other is obvious, you can write on it.

Chalk paint does have to be sealed , either with wax or polyurethane . Since its a window , I'd go with the polyurethane . BTW , Aljosjer, chalk paint is no the same as chalkboard paint and you probably shouldn't write on it.

I think you should go to a good DIYstore and choose a varnish with a natural aspect, so as not to disturb how your chalk paint looks now. Your varnish should be absolutely non-glossy, otherwise you'll loose the specific chalk-aspect, so be sure to pick the right one.

I recently chalk painted some furniture. Half of it got a. Final spray coat of non glossy lacquer. Then an aha moment occurred. I took paste wax and used it on other pieces. It sealed the chalk paint...no residue if you rub a cloth or your ha d over it. I polished the wax and it looks fantastic! Wish I had thought of this before spraying the other pieces.
