DIY Stenciled Subway Art

When my daughter and I spotted this stencil at Michael's the other day, we knew it would be perfect for her lounge room.
We picked out paint colors and got started.
This simple project took just minutes to make but represents shared dreams. I'd say that's time well spent. And we have a cute, inexpensive art project to show for it.
Create your own DIY Stenciled Subway Art...ombre style.
For this project you will need a subway stencil, stencil brushes, acrylic paint, a burlap canvas and some painter's tape or spray adhesive. I got all of my supplies at Michael's.
Start by painting the canvas a solid color. I chose black for this project, but white would look great too.
Next, center your stencil over the canvas and secure with painter's tape. Now you're ready to paint.
I used foam pouncers that screw onto the paint. Once the pouncer is screwed in place, gently tap the pouncer over the stencil. When you're finished painting, remove the stencil to reveal the design.
