You can take the pallets apart and nail them to 1x4 cross pieces (one across bottom quarter and one across top quarter) so you have board fence pieces to join with posts. One friend of mine just used the pallets as they cam and joined them with pieces from other pallets. It made a double thick fence and required no posts at all sitting it on the ground. In windy country the pallets would need extra care to get them good and sturdy but it could be done. Good luck! Pallets are hard wood so they should last a long time for fencing.
