I would paint a coral accent wall and fill it with Southwestern art.
You could use slats from pallet wood painted or stained, and then just attach two table legs to make an angled table that goes up against the wall and is nice and thin since the door is there. You can use crown molding to make a skinny table too. Something like these:

I would paint it turquoise and hang indian-inspired basket trays on it. Of course the real thing is way out of pocket, but I find them in thrift stores with the hopi coil type with native colors and designs for around $7-8. or some southwest art like Georgia O'Keefe skulls or hopi pueblos, even Day of the Dead art,

I would hang something like a large metal Hopi dancer wall hanging on the wall that the door covers.
A macrame and bead window covering or valance on the door too!
: )
I would place a shelf unit there with plants.
Look in the 'wood stuff' area of local thrift stores. Old cutting boards, spice racks, huge forks or spoons.....there are usually all kinds of things that can be transformed into 'wall art' or ??? And look at tables, maybe there is one that is rather beat up, but could be cut down to fit in that small angular area, leaving 2 of it's legs to 'stand on'. Just remember to go in with an open mind! An old spice rack might be just what you want to display matchbox cars. Or Kokopelli's since you said you have a southwestern theme going.
i would start with a wood focal wall and accent it by bringing in the southwestern colors in art. I would also incorporte some greenery
I would go with dark brown with mirror and narrow shelf that would bring that stunning focal point to that entryway on that slanted wall and it will reflect light And it keeps with the same southwest theme. Here are some photos of my ideas. As we say up north go bold or go home.
