I have only sliders in my home - windows and doorwall. I’ve used vertical blinds because I can adjust the angles of the vanes and also open only the part I want to open. I chose blinds to match my wall so they would sort of disappear into the wall because, let’s face it, they are more practical than attractive.

You can buy and apply static cling window films. They're an easy DIY project since they're adhesive-free and easy to change if you don't like the effect. Most allow natural light to enter. Decorative Films is a good online retailer: https://www.decorativefilm.com/static-cling-films

  • Mine faces a fenced backyard, so for me it isn't a privacy issue but a heat issue in the summer. I have vertical blinds then a double rod with sheers underneath and curtains on top. Love the sheers the best as they let light in yet still provide pricacy if you need it.

We purchased some decorative shears that have whole trees from floor to ceiling on them, light green, and we just love them for daytime privacy. At night we close the vertical blinds. The shears are light enough to permit light in the day, decorative, and compliment our dining colors. Hope this helps
