Is it in the ground or a pot. They like to be in a smaller pot than you would think.
If in a sunny state like Arizona... do not put in full sun in the summer. They like to dry out a bit between watering In summer, in the winter don't water more than once Or twice. I use a feeding solution that is put in the water. When I see the immature tips starting to curl its normally spider mites., Which I treat for that.
It may not bloom every year unless you are fertilizing properly. Also. Some never bloom, these are mostly ones grown from cuttings. Best way to make sure it is going to bloom is buy one when it has a bloom on it. This also lets you see what the color/striping will be. Many are sold as one variety but you get something different. I know I bought one from qvc it took 2 years to get a single bloom, and it was pink... it was supposed to bloom yellow. But since it was past the warranty period, I couldn't get my mone Ackerman. Hope this helps some.
Is this what they look like - if so they are called Adenium.
