Perhaps you could find a really cool looking cutting board, and silicone it in this area, and silicone around the edges. it would looks good, and perhaps be quite useful......
I would paint it, but invest in a couple large cutting boards as well. Put a damp kitchen towel down, then your cutting board, then it will not slide around. I hace carved little "v" on one side - the vegetable side, flip over for meat.
Thank you for the compliment on our website..It is great!!
You can buy kits to refinish your countertops. It'll give your kitchen a whole new look!! then make use to always use a cutting board. I love my silicone cutting board sheet!!
Omg! You need to check out epoxy paint! You could actually paint your countertop and make it look like real granite countertop, it's gorgeous!

If you clean and prime first, you can use regular acrylics to paint your countertops (you know, those little craft bottles at Michael's!) We painted our countertops - started with the Gianni kit, but I added several acrylics as well. Sealed with envirotex lite for a thick (self-levels to 1/8 thickness) and glass-like finish.
