I have a wallpaper book from 1914. I have used some of the pages for my decoupage and just admire them. Some of them have gold on them.

I'd use it to cover textbooks for kids in school. I also covered old novels with wallpaper that matched my living room and bedrooms so they looked coordinated on my bookshelves.
I have used leftover paper as liner paper in my cabinets. Patterned papers could be cut and used for decoupage.
I have covered nice boxes with lids to look like those you would purchase in a gift shop. Cover light switch plates. Scrapbooking. Cover back wall inside a cabinet or bookshelf. Cover the inside of an old trunk or a wooden box. I even covered plastic Easter eggs with tiny design cutouts.
Here is one project, Linda, but I have used elements from wallpaper, these though are images from magazines. It is fun and very inexpensive to do.
This is another wall paper project. This is done with wallpaper border. It is applied to the threshold between two rooms, and given 6 or so coats of polyurethane. You could also use such a border to trim a lampshade, on a mirror frame or box etc.
