What product did you purchase? Follow manufacturers instructions. Yes, you can, just know you may end up with bare spots.
Jferra2 , You do have to wait until the ground temperature is over 60 degrees farenheit and crabgrass killer woukd best between 60-90 degrees air temperature, so it seems to me that summertime is okay to apply crabgrass killer if that is the only time you have.
