We've filled small chips in our bath tubs with white caulk, (both bathtubs are white) using the same stuff we used to caulk around the tub. Just fill the hole and wipe any excess off with a wet rag. This isn't permanent but is cheap and easy and can be done again in a few years, as needed. None of the chips went completely through the tub. If you have a chip that goes all the way through the bottom or low in the side of your tub, the caulk may not work, especially if the bathroom is above another level of your house.
Your local home supply store should have little bottles of porcelain repair in whatever color you need. Comes in a bottle like nail color with a little brush.
