Hi. I'm assuming it's actual brick and not a plastic? If brick, purchase a masonry paint and follow manufacturers directions. If it's the plastic stuff that looks like brick, I'd buy a primer called Gripper by Glidden at Home Depot. That stuff sticks on anything! After a coat of that, let it dry 24 hours and then paint with LATEX paint if your choice. I'd get a washable one, probably a satin or semi gloss. Use a small roller with fluffy nap if you can find one. Much easier than a brush. Good luck!

1 Scrub away any mineral deposits, old peeling paint or loose debris with a wire brush.

For stubborn stains or grime found indoors or outdoors, mix trisodium phosphate with water at ratios recommended by the manufacturer and scrub the wall clean. Alternatively, for very dirty exterior veneer, use a pressure washer.
3 Allow the washed brick surface to dry for a few hours, or overnight. Brick veneer is porous and you don't want to trap moisture inside when you paint over it.
4 Protect nearby surfaces and plants by covering them with drop cloths or tarps. Cover fixtures, like trim, outlets and faucets with low-tack painter's tape.
5 Prime the surface with a 100-percent acrylic latex exterior or interior primer, depending upon where the brick is in your home. Cut the edges of the surface with a paint brush, and use a roller to cover the broad surfaces of your wall.
6 Allow the primer to dry according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
7 Apply a coat of 100-percent acrylic paint in the color of your choice. Choose interior paint for indoor veneer, or exterior paint for outdoor veneer. Use a brush to cut the edging, and a roller for the rest of the wall. Let it dry according to the manufacturer. Generally, acrylic paints dry within an hour.
8 Paint a second coat on the wall if you feel it is necessary.
