You can buy ceiling medallions to cover (Home Depot/Lowes). Then paint to match.

Been to Depot. But I was thinking someone has made the brass ceiling cover (mine missing) with some other object - like a saucer or metal can?

How about hanging a piece of driftwood? Something like this?

Thanks, nice light fixture. But I only need a creative cheap replacement for the brass cover that you see at the ceiling. I can get the real deal at an electrical supply store but it costs more than what I am hanging!

The sky is almost the limit on a decorative cover...... I'm assuming you need to be able to drill a small hole through the center of your cover to allow for wiring and lamp support. Some canopies are designed to take the weight of the light fixture but since you're improvising, you should play it safe and use something you can drill through.

Canopy options could be metal pie / camp plates, bowls or cups. Any interesting shapes....who says it has to be circular? Maybe use the glass dish from an old flush mount ceiling light fixture that already has a hole in the center?

Once you find your canopy cover, stop by your local hardware store and they can help with hanging hardware ( ie threaded pipe or chain hook.)

Thanks! Some interesting thoughts including other than round objects and I like the idea of light fixture glass that already has a hole. Yay for DIY!
