I used mayonaise. Rubbed it in, rinsed it off, then if you have oil for polishing your table, use it or I used olive oil.

Are you saying that water has got under the surface and lifted the veneer or is it Chipboard and the water has penetrated?
Well the best bet is to try and stick the veneer down if you can. Put a very heavy weight on it to help it get back to normal. NB. If you are covered by Insurance you may have a claim for accidental damage. If the above Glue and Weight doesn't do the trick. you may find it would need a new surface. Had another thought, you might like to Tile it instead.............
