I too have wild violets in my acreage. If you don't cut your grass, you will have an amazing show of a violet lawn. I found that if you keep your mower blades about 3 inches high, the grass eventually chokes them out.
I used them for a hillside. They make a great ground cover and in the spring they give such beautiful flowers and aroma.
If you are opposed to using Round Up, you could try digging them up. You must get all roots in the process or others will spring up from left behind roots. Weed Be Gone is another product you could try, if you like. Good luck 🍀
