Hope this helps.
1) remove their food source
2) a sprinkler on a sensor http://www.havahart.com/store/electronic-repellents?product_family=49&gclid=CjwKCAjwrO_MBRBxEiwAYJnDLC8JvvzhfooNLbO-E-Gwv1RobZH-fFzEE_tPKjeNYifSRaRg9ibXqhoCTJ0QAvD_BwE
if they aren't nesting too close to the house? consider making peace, they are not easy to discourage.

I used grated Irish Spring soap and cayenne pepper powder on the soil this spring. My squirrels and chipmunks also have the seeds that fall from the bird feeders to help satisfy them. We also have treats in the trees out front for them. I also feed my chipmunk out front under the edge of my hostas with peanuts, stale cereal, cookies, crackers.
I recommend spreading shredded Irish Spring bar soap in your garden. You can shred the bars on a box grater or even in a food processor. The soap will not hurt anything in your garden. Animals don't like the taste or smell. I hope this helps you. Good luck.
