semi gloss will hold stay on the cabinets better
I would use semi glossy, it will look cleaner when you wipe it down on weekly or monthly basis
I like satin. It's just as easy to clean as semi gloss. I've notice lately that semi gloss is glossier than it used to be.
Myself I prefer satin, but it depends on how much shine you like. Either will stay on the cabinet just as well if the surface is properly prepared.
