It's going to depend on exactly what you're looking to do. Are you looking to block light, increase privacy, or just decorate the window? It also depends on your style. Is your kitchen shabby chic, modern, or Farm house? I always think shutters look cute in a kitchen.
I also love shutters in a kitchen, but if the windows are close together it might look off with the two different lengths of windows. I think a pic would help us give better suggestions

we are Air Force now retired)I have made kitchen curtains for every home we moved into out of sheets . this way what ever you want and it's much cheaper than buying new curtains.
