This affordable DIY is super fun to make! Watch the video tutorial below and read the post from Debi's Design Diary.com
I wanted a quick project to post to my youtube channel because it was going to be a busy week, I ran it by my carpenter Bobby and he said it would be easy, he also said we should be able to get a stump for free at our local firewood lot...
getting the stump was easy, but hollowing it out was a whole other story!
It actually took a month to hollow out the stump! So much for a quick project...
I should also mention that the top was made from two thrift store sweaters, that we stitched together on this tiny sewing machine! My mom found it at a yard sale for $5, it was one of those late night shopping channel items. Watch my video to see this gadget in action!
This is me talking about the $5 sewing machine, it's a miracle that my assistant Stacee was able to finesse this machine to sew on sweaters!
To save money i purchased a thin sheet of foam and pieced my dome shape together.

My blog has links to all the supplies i used for this. Posted below.
Then I stapled the sweater cover to the base.
To find out more details, like how I made the polka dots with needle felted wool, and how we finally hollowed out the stump, watch the video and click over to my blog for more of the story and step by step directions!

I post new video tutorials every week, If you enjoyed this please subscribe to my channel or blog for more DIY's.
