    Buy a good Compost and mix it with your soil. Plant some in Compost a lone and some in Soil mix............

    I am not sure you can. I would get some Peat Moss, or Planting Soil, and mix it with clay, or for better results, use ONLY moss and soil, in a separate area, and this will be fine. Just yesterday, I trimmed mine down, to about 5" for them to rest, thru the winter. You do NOT need to cover them, at all thru the winter. They will come faithfully in the spring. Best wishes, J.

    I have clay soil and LOADS of lilies. When I divide them, I mix some potting soil in with the clay and set the new plant down. They grow like mad.

    In my former home, I had clay soil and lots of Day Lilies. If you are overly concerned, you can always improve drainage in your clay soil by adding very fine pea gravel and some sand and adding good soil but I have always found them a VERY tough plant that grow everywhere!
