What can I do about flies?

We set up the fly traps that of the package that you add water and hang and we also have the kind that you put the packets in a gallon milk bottles and put the top on it. It smells bad it does attract the Flies but we still have them buzzing around this all over when we try to sit on our front porch. We live in a wooded area but next to us is a very large field of about 3000 acres. We have deer wild turkeys and later on in the year we'll have cows in the yard next to us. It's beautiful here but the Flies are Madness what can we do?

Do you have your bait traps near your house and porch? If so, try moving them to the farthest edge of your property. That way the flies are attracted to that area instead of your porch.

One thing I use is Citronella oil dabbed around the doorways. Keeps flies away during the day and mosquitoes at night.
In my chicken coop I hang sachets of cotton balls soaked in real vanilla and have really good luck keeping the flies away with that. I don't know what it is about it they don't like, but it works
