I found a glass condiment tray at the thrift store and gave it a new purpose. I decided to use it as a succulent planter, here's how.
White containers are hot right now, so I'm always on the look out for containers. I have found that local thrift stores rather than chain (Goodwill) will sometimes have the best prices.
I had a single left over pick from a previous project and some dry floral foam. I thought, why not put them together? icon
Cut the block of foam to the basic size, then I trimmed it on a bevel to fit in the openings using a bread knife.
You can see that I filled in with smaller pieces. Since it will not show, you can piece it together. Hot glue is great!
Poke holes for picks and insert stem pieces. Squirt hot glue over the exposed surface of the foam, avoiding the plants and sprinkle on pea gravel to cover the exposed foam surface.
This fits easily on the narrow shelf by my kitchen window. With Christmas coming up soon, why not make some projects for friends and family? icon
