If a shed is shaped like a small barn how do you organize it?

Hello Annette; I would suggest that you start slowly.
If you need help, Please reach out to a trusted Friend.
If you are not using the items in the shed, and have no need for them, why don't you either sell them at a Yard Sale or else Donate them.
There are several churches that have Thrift Stores, which use the money to help the church or people who can use a hand.
I attended a "Party" once to help a Friend do something similar. Everyone brought food, and she supplied beer and wine. It was a huge hit.
You could take what you could use and having a Party is always nice.
I hope that this helps you!!! Take Care!
Use the height of the back of the barn to hang long items and possibly shelves as well. Drawers and lower shelves could be placed on the sides of the barn.
Where the barn roof slants, I wonder if you have cross beams....you can use that space to lay a ladder across, put some thick pvc pipe which can hold long pieces of of wood or metal or fishing poles, etc. You can stack plastic tubs/ containers with lids to store and separate camping gear, seasonal items, sports equipment and rarely used tools. Then hang a pegboard for the tools you use most often. Use specialty hangers for shovels, rakes, hoe, etc and use an old car tire rim to hang a garden hose. Just my two cents. Good luck!
If you hang pegboard OR nails OR do hooks for placing yard tools on, once you have decided where each piece will go, take time to trace around each tool with a permanent magic marker (sharpie, etc.) so everyone can readily see where a tool should be placed if several are in use at one time.
Can you build a wall of cupboards from the outside edge to the first slant for storage? Then maybe shelves on one tall wall and tool hooks on the other. If the second slant is over your head, you could build a loft as well.
: )
peg board and pegs go a long way in helping get some organization in a space shaped like that. It attaches directly to the slats/studs
