I never changed the water.
everyday
water should be changed every few days to get rid of any bacteria which will rot the pit
I would check to make sure it maintained a level of water to keep it wet and added water as needed. It took FOREVER to sprout so keep the faith! LOL!
I usually change mine whenever it starts getting cloudy or dirty looking. be careful not to damage the roots that are already growing....
