Help with some steps in front of our back door, or a porch there.

Look at this picture and see that the concrete goes up to both of my windows.
I really would like a small deck with a step or two. But it needs to look like it was suppose to have been built this way and not added on. Thank you

Hi Linda, I can't help but wonder if there might be some way you can get cinder block steps to work at least for awhile -- fastest way, and not so expensive -- just mostly sweat equity on a warm summer day:

Your local menard hardware store sells many styles or here's a pallet stairs that you may like if you folks are handy and I'm sure you have company's who give away pallets like our city's do and will will just need front boards and nails to complete the task. railing company of course install and check your local phone book, I know who has one of those???

Might think about doing a 4' x 4' landing either wood with planter boxes on the side doesn't look more than 8 inches from threshold to concrete start 1-1/2 " below threshold you only have one step to concrete maybe go a little larger have flower boxes and maybe a little bench

I would consider covering the entire area with a small wooden deck. Make it a comfortable height to step out of the door onto the deck....That would unify the area a bit and dress it up as well. Put a small bench under the side window area and add potted plants for decor. You could even add a small outdoor rug for a pop of decor.
