Are there any hands-on woodworking classes in my area?

I want to learn woodworking, even just some basic how-to instructions on making some repurposed items, or fixing furniture, etc. Neither Lowe's or Home Depot have any, and all I have found is a place in Waco, TX and one in Maine. I just want to be able to go to a place and learn....not online. Any help will be appreciated. My zipcode is 75068. Northwest of Dallas, TX by 36 miles.

C heck with your local tech college, sometimes they have enrichment programs in the evenings. If you bug your local lumber or home improvement stores enough, they may decide to hold classes.

Call some local wood-workers, cabinet makers in the area to see if they teach a class or know of someone who does.

I would look for local woodworking clubs in your area. Also, if you have specialty woodworking stores like Woodcraft or Rockler, they hold some fairly affordable workshops and classes.
