Search yard sales, second hand shops looking for an iron gate or something metal and decorative. Paint it black and hang on the door. You can go one more step and purchase a mirror the same size as the gate and it will give the reflection of a window.
Stain it instead of painting and change out the hardware
what about really jazzy house numbers? you can order vinyl cut outs on Etsy and probably plenty of other sites.

I'd get some trim and nail it to the door in a pleasing pattern. Then paint it.
I would definatley paint it a good color. Then you could go to Home Depot and pick out some sticky back paper that can look like stained glass or other choices, and cut it the size of a window and put it in place. I would then use wood molding that has been painted and make a frame around the fake window. The cost of the plastic-like paper is about $20.00 and waterproof. From there you can decide if you want a wreath on your door. Good Luck.
Here's a few photo ideas that will make your front door stand out and add that the curb appeal your looking to achieve. Beadboard with trim or they do sell wallpaper beadboard for doors. I'm not sure what color hardware you have, but they do have spray paint for that and I'm adding that photo for you to decide and try a large door knocker lions head which is another option.
Thank you so much! What great ideas!
