Hi Khtiefert, This could be some hard work. I have laid a couple. One a patio, one a pathway, and one a landing for a wood burning fireplace. What is your purpose? Do you want a dry lay or mortar. I am not a contractor just an individual that likes doing some DIYs. Here is what I did for the patio and the pathway. We dug out the outline we wanted, leveled it out to the level needed ( we wanted the flagstone to be level with rest of ground), added a small amount of sand for maneuvering (checking to make sure they are level), laid the stone with a pattern pleasing to you, then added sand to fill all the seams together. Now we did have some settling after a bit but just added sand, swept, and good to go. I have added a site that will as well help. Good Luck.
