Go to the local homecenter and start reading the backs of products that eliminate unwanted plants growing in your yard. Most are concentrated and will need to be mixed with water in a sprayer bottle or tank then sprayed on the offending thistle. If you let that thistle flower you will have seeds spreading everywhere and will have twice as much next year as you have this year. Hurry!!!
Cut the flower off. and pour or spray vinegar on it.
Dig it up
You will have to dig the weeds or smother them out with newspapers or cardboard
If it's milk thistle you might want to keep some. This herb has many medicinal uses. Check with your local health food store. Best way natural is hot water or straight vinegar. Good Luck!
You have to get after it in early Spring before it gets a foot tall. If not, call over your Scottish friends and enjoy it.
