Good Luck Sandra and thanks for asking HOMETALK for solutions.
Hi Sandra, I use 1 gallon of white vinegar and 2 Tbsp of Dawn Dish Liquid. This works best in sun/part sun areas. For shady areas I have used salt, either leftover rock salt or epsom salts but this is best for spot treatment, not for a large area where there are other plants you want to keep.
Use plain old hot hot water. Use a sprinkling can with one small spout, this will give you good aim on the weeds and not the plants. The best way to pull these out, wait till they are dead for sure, and after a rain, the ground is wet the weeds will come out by the roots. Good Luck!
