I have a red Brick, same style wood burning fireplace. How can I update it?
Chances are if you can get your hand in behind the surround it is clamped to the brick itself and if you can remove the surround sooooo much easier to paint.
Red brick inside the house is difficult to decorate with. You could paint or white wash your brick to brighten up the space. Lately they have been tiling over the brick with beautiful results. Tile is also much easier to clean around a wood burning firebox than brick.
Rustoleum makes a high temperature paint in several colors. If you aren't concerned about heat, then they make several dozen spray colors for you to choose from. There's one called champagne mist that might tone with your brick. Visit your hardware or big chain store and enjoy looking. Please post a picture when you finish. :-)
The Rustoleum high temperature spray paint is excellent for this purpose, I have used this product with great results. you can even use it on a scratched gas stove//range, or change the color on a kitchen fan
Does anybody have any ideas or suggestions for adding a bit of charm to my fireplace. I just moved into a new property, but the living room is very cookie cutter and the fireplace is very boring. Sorry I don't have any pictures, but it is a very basic, gas fireplace https://cozzy.org/best-gas-fireplace-insert/ with a standard white mantle surrounding it. I'm just looking to add a little bit of charm to my new home, and I need inspiration for the fireplace.
