Plastic bag yarn---cut off the handles and the seam end, fold or roll up with cut ends out and then cut into 1/2 or 1 inch strips. Now you should have a bunch of circles. Loop the circles together and pull tight, continue and then roll into a ball and crochet mats and slippers and hats...very warm.
