You could paint it, but that would also block light from coming in, which could make your entrance look gloomy. What about using a window film on the glass? Many films offer privacy without blocking natural light, and because they cling to the glass without adhesive, they're easy on/easy off. This website offers a variety of films: https://www.decorativefilm.com/popular-films
Gallery Glass makes liquid leading and stained glass paints. You simply tape your pattern to one side of the glass and squeeze the liquid lead on the pattern lines. When dry, fill in with color or colors swirled together. If you want some texture, use a toothpick and move it around in the paint.
when it's done and dry, it will allow light in.
:)
Yes, I was going to recommend Gallery Glass too. They have the best variety of paints for glass. They also have tutorials on how to paint glass. Hope this helps you. Good luck.
Depending on your level of privacy need, you can paint it with light frosting, all the way to navy blue and forest green. If you paint on the inside, any latex paint paint should work.
I've used Crystal Clear Gallery glass on my side view windows beside my front door. I just put a thick coat on with my fingers and tapped it with them all over. It will look funky at first, but give it a day to dry and it looks great. Take a piece of glass out of an old picture frame and give it a try. I still get light in through the windows, but from looking outside in, everything is distorted. It gives me enough privacy.
You can add decorative window privacy film, or you can buy frost spray paint and paint the glass (Rustoleum makes it). https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=decorative+window+film
Vickie...can you post a photo? It sounds like you don't think you can put a curtain on the door. I wouldn't recommend painting it a solid color. There are various glass paints but the idea is to make it look like stained glass, so it would still be somewhat see though. There are some nice spray paints that give a frosted glass look. You could even use a tiny stencil pattern depending on the visibility into your house. If you want complete privacy, you might opt for a carpenter installing a simple but decorative wood insert. You could paint the outside a bright fun color if you're daring and possibly some brass hardware and door knocker. But again...a photo could be helpful. Good luck.
ARTSCAPES window cling films..gorgeous..and easily..SO easily put on and removed. Home Depot. Privacy and lets light in
I used leaf stencils...taped them to the glass and sprayed with frosting! Allows light in, but is much more difficlut see in easily.
