Don't know how to reupholster? No worries you don't need to know how to change up old or thrifty furniture. You can just paint it. Yep....with Chalk Paint®. I've painted just about anything and everything with it (metal, glass and even lampshades). I've even painted fabrics (indoor and outdoor pillows) but this was my first piece of upholstered furniture. And I am super pleased with the results!
French chair painted with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. For real. And it worked.
I had a little "change of the mind" a bit into the project. No too much of a problem with Chalk Paint...see the blog for the full details on this one.
Cutting new foam for the seat cushion and touched up the wood feet with one of my other favorite products...Minwax PolyShades.
Enjoyed the project?

Kathleen on Mar 02, 2015Nancy your chair is beautiful. I tried painting a piano bench seat but it was taking so much paint that for the size it was cheaper for me to cover it. I have done a vinyl chair and it was great. Is there anything special you do to your chair before you start? Even usingalit of chalk paint I know it would be cheaper than upholstery.

Nancy @ ArtsyChicksRule on Feb 03, 2016@Kathleen I'm so sorry! I missed this comment somehow. My only tip on that would be to dampen the fabric a bit before and also be sure you have watered down the chalk paint enough. (not too much though)
