You need to prioritize your projects first. I would list "must", "needs", etc.
How about starting with the area that bothers you the most. Once you get that done, it will motivate you to continue on. I've been working on my room & closet, the upstairs bathroom, outside (during summer), my kitchen, living room and dining room. Last will be our extra bedrooms. I have found that sometimes I have to stop and move to a different room because I'm painting something and I have to let something else dry.
Good Luck.
Linda's advice is good, but sometimes the worst area can be the most intimidating and thus the toughest to tackle in terms of mental energy. I sometimes have more luck starting with the easiest, emptiest space, clearing literally everything out and making three piles: keep, sell or donate, and throw away. Then I put back only the vital things. A good mantra is, "When in doubt, throw it out."
Sometimes the only way I make progress is to take everything out of the room except the furniture, and then add things back in until I get the look I want. My biggest problem is clutter. It is hard to clean around clutter, but, if you can streamline the look, you will find it easier to clean and maintain. All the leftover stuff needs to find a new home, which may mean moving them to a new home.
