It's definitely a weed. Take some of it to an older local person. (We have a bunch that have hung out at Hardees for coffee and breakfast every morning for YEARS.) I'm sure there's a hangout where you live too. They will probably know the name of it. It should be pretty easy to pull up especially after a rain. It will take over your yard if you don't get rid of it. What you treat it with depends upon whether you want organic or REAL weed killer. (I'm old. Everything that grew outside was organic. Except I remember my dad sprinkling Sevin dust on the tomato plants every summer to kill something.

It is dichondra which, believe it or not, people are now planting on purpose. According to

www.outsidepride.com/seed/ground-cover.../dichondra/dichondra-groundcover-seed.ht... Dichondra has broad, almost circular leaves (looks similar to clover) and when mowed low establishes a thick dense carpet look. Dichondra is now used in many ground cover situations where normal grasses may not do as well. It has a bright green color and a very good feel underfoot.

It is basically a moss - so moss killer rather than weed killer, but that said it is the devil to get rid of will spread over concrete/gravel and over everything in its path

It looks me like a grass and I think that is a beautiful plant. Its Shape parabolic leaves is nice. It is covering all the área. You should to change your mind and look it with another eyes and to give it some water. This plants are protecting the soil.

    O think so.

It's dichondra. In the 70s it was a popular groundcover. I was a landscape contractor and people would have me plant it. Unfortunately, too much water, it rotted, not enough it would die off. It lost poularity, but when people use fill dirt sometime they bring dormant seeds from someone who had it planted years ago, and it comes back We had fill dirt and now have it growing. use a herbicide if you want to kill it. It's actually an ornamental grass.

In Californa, it is a prized posession. It requires a lot of water so since the heavy draught, it has lost it's popularity. Believe it or not, it is related to the sweet violet but doesn't have the bloom. It is quite delicate as it does not take well to foot traffic.

It's called dollar weed around here. It's edible and stays green like grass. Is there a reason it's a problem?
