Do it yourself stores may have some recommendations for you. I do know that if you don't want it painted, then the work is much more involved. Tile or slate can sometimes be grouted on top of the surface to create a whole new look. We put slate over top of our marble Because it was outdated. We did however have to hire it done with somebody who knew what they were doing. if it is not done right then it may fall off
We replaced our old marble mantel & now I would like to repurpose it. The piece measures 8" x 1 1/4" x 6'. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
