How do you fix laminated flooring???

Jane Richards
by Jane Richards
I was away from the house and left a glass of water on the kitchen counter. My cat knocked the glass off and it spilled on the laminate flooring. Now the top surface of the laminate is lifting and warping. Any suggestions?? I'm willing to try anything.

It should settle down as it dries out. I had a flood in my house over the hall laminate and it settled down a lot. Just could tell if you are looking for it. Good luck.

, I really don't know. Call the place you purchased the floor from, and ask them. If you laid down the floor yourself, you had to buy it somewhere. Call the flooring company, or if you went to a Homedepot or Lowe's call them and say your floor warped, and what can you do. Good Luck!

Try this, but be very careful. From a height to only warm the laminate so it doesn't blister or scorch, wave a heat gun back & forth to hopefully dry up moisture under lino & gradually after cooling shrink back to normal. BE OBSERVANT & CAREFUL NOT TO SCORCH OR BLISTER LINO. Alternatively & maybe safer, try a hairdryer. Then there is the option of a fan heater. Should settle down hopefully on it's own. Good luck.

once it dries out a little lay down an old towel and place a 10 pound bar bell weight on the bulge. Be sure to flag area so you don't trip over weight. Leave for several days. Worked for us. Good lock.😉
