Can you stand on marble countertops?

Just installed marble countertops and need to complete the backsplash. It will be a mural, and the artist needs to get to the corner of the wall over the refrigerator and over the top cabinets. Standing on the countertops would make it easy to do.

I can't vouch for your countertops but I stand on mine to clean the mirror and the lights above the vanity.

My first thought is how heavy is the artist, and can he afford to replace the counters if he breaks one.
May be you should have done the mural before the counter tops were installed. A ladder may not be the best way to reach, but would be the safest for your counter tops. Make sure they are covered in case of drips or spills.
Yeah marble can break, I sure wouldn't.
