Make sure they are clean and dry. Use acrylic latex paint. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123, KILZ,or BIN. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.

Hi William. First I would lightly sand them and then prime. Then I would use a latex paint in a semi gloss so they are easy to clean.

I would just paint. Back when we moved into this house, oil based paint was still readily available and not so noxious. It was wonderful paint to use for all wooden surfaces. I would just rather repaint than go to the trouble of poly urethaning.

First clean them with Murphy's oil soap to get any grease off. Let it dry 48 hrs. Take the doors and draws off and the hardware too. Paint the doors flat with a high gloss paint, do a few a day. The hardware, either get new, or wash and spray paint to give the doors contrast. These doors will be be a 123 to clean, just a sponge with some dish liquiid. Good Luck!
