Perhaps you could put down gravel and use that cement mix that you just spray with water, that may be a good alternative and probably would be fairly easy to repair without calling in a pro.
If you build a gravel drive way correctly it will not wash away. There are plenty of U-tube videos on how to do this. Just spreading gravel on top of dirt will not do it.
Good ole asphalt driveway. I have a gravel driveway, it was like this when I moved in, but it was the gray sharp edge stuff.... hard to walk on. So I got 7 yards of pea gravel and we redid it, and so much easier to walk on and look lots better. Think it cost me $70 my drive is 80' with a turnaround at the end. Only bad part is spraying for weeds 2x a year.
You could gravel it. You will need about a ton for every 30 ft or so. Crusher Run is the best for driveways. It will keep your dirt from turning to mud. Put it at least 4 inches deep on the driveway. We did our driveway by hauling in a home built trailer. We added 1 or 2 tons more every 5 yrs.
we solved the problem of uncooperative grass by having it paved in attractive colored bricks front and back. makes lovely curved walkways to the rear and no more mowing.
