Remove the aloe from the existing pot and pull off toehold soil, use a pot that has drainage and is twice the size of the root system, place succulent soil in the bottom, place the plant tampering down the soil as you go,fill the soil to the top and make sure all air is removed.Remember succulents prefer to be on the dry side
My husband's was too. He separated the "babies" and repotted them in their own little pots to sell at a slight discount as the stores in yard sales. There is a lot of money can be made from healthy aloe plants!
I grew up using aloe for scrapes and burns. Love it. You need to get several pots to replant your baby shoots. Just pull them free from the "mother" plant while trying to keep their root systems intact. I would use a garden trowel for this job.
Take fresh potting soil and put the aloe plant back in and watered it.
cut the limbs off close to the cluster in the middle. Cut all of them, new potting soil and dirt mixed to gather, put the cluster in one pot cover with dirt won't take it long to have more leafs with 4-5 leafs. Put the rest like 4-5 in other pots, cup out dirt, pour water in the hole stick in the leafs. I just done mine, had enough leafs for 4 big pots, then water them each day, lightly. Do not rot the roots. Put in the sunshine, water little each day, do not drown them. put in plently of sunshine. You will have to turn it in about a week, it will pull towards the sun. Mine was done in march, now it is sept. and has grown just about out of the pot.
You can divide it and share with friends.
Lift it or by putting your hands under the bottom leaves. Slow is pretty sturdy so you can hold it by the leaves. Place it in the new pot hold it in place by the top and add in soil and pack it down till it's secure.
